There are so many reasons, and so many types of exercise you can do, so home in on the ones that feel important to you, move in a way that feels fun to you and get started today because it's never too late!
It can improve how you feel:
Increase your energy.
Help you sleep better.
Boost your confidence.
Increase libido.
Boost your mood.
Boost self-esteem.
Give you a sense of achievement.
Improve your body image and how you see yourself.
Can be sociable and a way to meet or connect with new people.
It can improve your Brain Health:
Increase creativity.
Improve your memory and brain function.
Reduce feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression
Reduce risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Improve concentration and focus.
Help with self-control.
It can improve your Physical Health:
Help manage weight.
Improve balance, strength, posture, agility, flexibility, range of motion, and sport performance.
Strengthens bones and muscles, improving posture and reducing risk of injuries, fractures, and falls.
Improve your ability to do everyday activities (which can help with confidence, mood etc) as well as improving joint pain and stiffness, helping you move more.
Reduce chronic pain, back pain, arthritis.
Control blood pressure and blood sugar levels, which can lower cholesterol, risk for some cancers, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and stroke.
And this list isn't exhaustive either!
So, if you're a beginner, intermediate or advanced, it's never too late to start improving yourself.
